Thanks, Yes, it’s because UK University fees are now so high that only the richest people can afford it. – hence the student here I saw with the heavy Harrods Bags. My father told me never to explain a joke, but actually it’s less of a joke and more of a dig at the unfairness of the new system which excludes the poorer/ordinary people. (I would never have done art if the fees were as high as they are now)

Your father was absolutely right. But in that case, I lacked the local Brit context. A sad context. Education is so much our future, it has now become a luxury item.
